Libraries across the country host summer reading programs as a way to encourage reading as a lifelong habit, maintain reading skills that children and teens have achieved throughout the school year, and increase interest in libraries, and because it’s just plain fun. The 2021 New Orleans Public Library SUMMER FUN reading program is sponsored by the Friends of the New Orleans Public Library with support from the Eugenie and Joseph Jones Family Foundation, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana, and the Entergy Charitable Foundation.


To participate in SUMMER FUN 2021, follow the steps below:

1. Sign Up - Complete the SUMMER FUN Sign-Up Form from May 17th - July 17th.

2. Download BINGO card & reading tracker now or pick one up at the Library - The BINGO card & reading tracker will help to keep track of your achievements. It is also available in Spanish.

3. Have Fun - Begin completing BINGO activities and/or reading to fill out the reading tracker. Also, click on a link below to visit our For You pages and find something for everyone.

4. Earn Entries into the Prize Drawing - Complete the Achievement Form to earn achievement certificates. Each achievement certificate is equal to an entry into the prize drawing for your age group.

Librarians are also available in person or by phone at our Library locations to help you sign up, complete the Achievement Form, or answer questions about any of our virtual programs.
